I just want to sound like Bob Dylan

This dress really reminds me of Modcloth's Seaside Park Dress, so I had to get it. I actually didn't think I would ever buy clogs, but I sort of fell in love with these. They're comfortable and surprisingly easy to walk in.

Dress: Vintage
Clogs: Frye
Socks: Target, I think

Everything about it screams retro/mod which is probably why I bought it. I've been on an Edie Sedgwick kick lately. she was the best. I know stripes are everywhere these days, but I love it!

British Invasion

When Topshop first came to New York, I was beyond ecstatic. I have always loved their clothes, and the fact that they were London based always intrigued me. Now another British clothing label I love, Motel, is in the states as well! I was looking at Urban Outfitters's website when I came upon some of Motel's dresses which made me way excited.

Motel Lesley Dress, Motel Naomi Dress, Motel Sabine Dress

It's weird, because I was looking for a store that would carry their brand. I just assumed it was only available online.

Oh and I really need to head over to Topshop in the near future to see the new Kate Moss collection. I aways love her items whenever I'm in Topshop, but her new summer collection looks extra lovely.

Photos from Vogue UK

It's very vintage inspired with a 70's bohemian look and 1920's maxi dresses.. I love the eclectic mix of decades she draws from. and her washed out hippie denim is making me start to love the fact that it's coming back in style.

Fables in the Air

I was never heavily into jewelry, in fact, I don't really have any super fancy pieces that I can say I'm in love with. For a while I was obsessed with Tarina Tarantino and plastic jewelry that was similar in aesthetics. I would layer bracelets and even necklaces, which I still do sometimes.. but lately I've been drawn to overly delicate pieces that I normally wouldn't consider. I think I'm just getting more into jewelry than I was.

Tom Binns is probably my favorite jeweler right now, ever since I discovered his Wonderland set. I love his style. but I just recently discovered Fables in the Air, and their necklaces and charms are pretty lovely..

Ribbons of Chains necklace
My favorite, and there are a few different ways to wear it!

Fables Couture Tassel neckpiece

Skeleton Key Chain link
I will never stop loving skeleton keys, even as prominent as they appear in jewelry.

I just love how unique they make simple sterling silver look. definitely nostalgic too, like their button on a string necklace! Their website is amazing too, and there are even more original and pretty pieces.

Ida Sjostedt

Ida Sjostedt Spring 2010

Ida Sjostedt is definitely one of my new favorite designers from Sweden. This Spring 2010 wonderland inspired collection is edgy, yet elegant..a mixture I absolutely love. She describes her style as "tasteful kitsch." I see inspiration from fairy tales and perhaps a harajuku girl meets european street style. It makes me want to wear white lace tights with everything I own.

If the hat fits

Shorts: H&M Garden Collection
Bodysuit: American Apparel
Tights: H&M
Shoes: Dolce Vita
Hat: Eugenia Kim for Target
Bag: Vintage
Sungalsses: Forever 21

I finally found a fedora I actually like from Eugenia Kim's Target line. I love how it looks like the real deal, as do most of the other hats in the collection. Most fedoras don't fit my head right, but this one's perfect. The sequin trim is probably what won me over. I'm loving this hat trend for spring lately even if it will turn me into a crazy hat lady.

Almost here

I desperately need a new bathing suit for summer. I've been wearing the same one for about.. a few years now. not good. All the nice ones that I want are expensive of course.

The Zen Garden Two-Piece from modcloth is pretty much my dream bathing suit.

I can't wait for summer.

Fashion as Art

Video from NYmag

Looks like I'll be taking a trip to the Brooklyn Museum and Met soon! I love a good fashion exhibit at museums, and this one looks promising. Fashion from the late 1800s to early 1900s? sounds incredible.. I always view fashion as an art form. I'm especially excited to see the flapper section. Those drop waist dresses and hats make me wish I lived in that crazy era.

Botanic Garden

I went to the Botanic Garden in Brooklyn before all of the cherry blossoms lost their petals. The place is magical.. it feels like you're in another world. It's good to know such a pretty piece of land exists within this large city. I love coming here to escape the chaos every once in a while.
