Paying homage to the grunge era with this babydoll, peterpan collar and velvet dress. This dress is so cute! I felt like a doll in it. It's actually from the 60s, but it's definitely Courtney Love circa the 90s. I wasn't sure of the magenta color, but now I think I'm obsessed. and I'm still addicted to velvet this season. It's such a luxe fabric that I can't seem to stay away from. and to think I used to hate the very thought of ever wearing it... fashion is so dynamic, i love it.

Alice + Olivia Fall 2011 is probably my favorite collection as a whole from NYFW. mainly because I would wear almost all of the pieces. I especially love the black and white neutral tones with that shot of red thrown in every few pieces.. my ideal collection. and I love seeing vintage undertones in modern pieces. so inspiring!

Vest and cardigan: F21
New York is still cold and bitter, which means lots of layers and faux fur. I love the craziness of this vest.. it's chic and versatile enough to dress up or down with a pair of skinny jeans, and it reminds me of a wild bird. It's also extra warm. I'm over winter already, but there's no use in complaining about weather since it's not up to me. unless I were to move to Cali! Hmm, one day? I've always wanted to move around and be a sort of gypsy.
Happy Valentine's day to all you lovers xx

Shoes: Steve Madden
This black mini dress from the 60s is my favorite latest find. The reflective buttons are the best part.. sort of like the 60s meets the future. For some reason i still see shimmery and reflective accents as futuristic, outer space style, as opposed to vintage glam. not really sure why.
The dress is actually going in the shop soon (among a few other things)! I love it, but I realize I own way too many black dresses as it is...

Love her. She's a big source of inspiration for me. from her hair to her eccentric and ever-changing wardrobe (her Biba spread was insanely elegant). I'm all about the girly look with a rock edge, and she pulls it off well.

She's on the cover of the new ASOS Magazine as well, looking lovely as ever.

A few more photos from my trip..
I felt so at peace staring at the mountains and snowy trees on the way up to go snowboarding. I absolutely loved it there. I'd love to live in a snowy cabin in the mountains.. just during the winter, though. and I of course took the obligatory plane shot. The view of the pink ribbon sunset at a high altitude was just too pretty not to.
